MONEY DEPOSTED IN ESCROW |
The term "escrow" has a legal meaning, which, simply put, facilitates the movement of money between a Buyer and Seller using a Solicitor to hold onto the Buyer's money in favour of the Seller until the transaction is complete.
In the context of buying and selling a vehicle, the Buyer deposits the agreed purchase price of the vehicle with Car Conveyancer which we hold on trust for the Seller. Once the vehicle has been released to the Buyer, the
Seller is then paid by us. This eliminates the risk and stress of handling money between strangers making it safer and easier to buy and sell a motor vehicle.
The Seller can be confident that before he releases the vehicle, the money held in our Solicitors' Money Safe Escrow Account will have cleared funds from the Buyer. There will not be any risk of handling forged cash, banker's drafts and cheques. This risk is totally eliminated.
The Escrow Account is 100% Safe
Car Conveyancer is a division of R James Hutcheon Solicitors. Both Buyer and Seller can take advantage of our Professional Status. Unlike other businesses, any client money held by a Solicitor in an Escrow Account is protected funds. Nobody can have access or claim these funds even in the unlikely event that we were to become insolvent or bankrupt etc. The Money Safe Escrow Account is independently monitored and audited by the Solicitors Regulation Authority (SRA) and Chartered Accountants.
The Bank Account, in which the Escrow Funds are placed, is clearly marked "Client Account" so that our own Bank and any third party is put on notice that this money has protected status from any claim. For additional piece
of mind, as matter of course, we have compulsory risk insurance up to the value of £2 Million. Both Buyer and Seller can rest assured that any money held by us in our Money Safe Escrow Account is 100% safe.
